The Breaking Point
In just over a year, I had to gut and rebuild the same three homes...twice.
First during Hurricane Idalia… then again, during Hurricane Helene.
I was leading corporate strategy at a Fortune 50 company during the first rebuild.
By the second, I was launching my own consulting firm, while raising two boys, managing a household, and keeping my sanity together with duct tape and spreadsheets.
No one told me how complicated recovery could be.
Permits. FEMA rules. Contractor no-shows. Mortgage company inspections.
Even with 25 years of project management experience, I felt like I was drowning.
And that’s when I realized:
This isn’t a homeowner problem. It’s a system problem.
From Personal Chaos to Collaborative System
I started mapping what I’d learned, building checklists, timelines, and risk plans just to keep things moving.
